I Remodeled My Kitchen – Now What?

If you have completed a kitchen remodel, then the first thing you ought to do is pat yourself on the back. It is no mean feat to take an outdated, out of style kitchen and turn it into something with modern equipment but that still allows your own sense of style to show through. Of course, having completed the task, the avid do-it-yourself renovator is ready for his or her next task. Thus, you find yourself asking, “I remodeled my kitchen, now what?”
I figure, for most homes, the answer is right in front of you. In the average home, the kitchen is almost always adjacent to the dining area. While some homes have a breakfast or dining nook that is actually a part of the kitchen, some have a separate dining room. A surprising number have both. If you have a dining room that hasn’t been updated in a while, then chances are your new shiny, high-styling kitchen is going to make it look dowdy in comparison. No time will serve better than the present to tackle this chore.
Now, there is a slight possibility that you’ve recently remodeled the dining area and, maybe your kitchen remodel was prompted by your success in that arena. If this is the case, I’d suggest your next task be one that has some parallels to kitchen work, i.e. plumbing. The bathroom is a great place to use those left over fittings, pipes and other bits from the kitchen overhaul and to create a new look in a room that is at least as vital to your lifestyle as the one you cook in.
Whatever your next project may prove to be, do keep the momentum going. If you’re one who can ask, “I remodeled my kitchen, now what?” then you will find a way to use your time, tools and skills to increase value of, as well as to beautify, your home.
