A major area in the overall discipline of landscaping that is becoming popular is landscape irrigation. The process of designing a tract of land that has gardens, lawns, courtyards, trees, shrubs, plants and grass, and others is called landscaping. A landscaped area, in order to look beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, is not only about growing trees and plants, but doing it with activities to make a home beautiful.
As a discipline, landscaping was said to start around 1598. The Dutch is claimed to pioneer landscaping in the artistic world which took the form of artistic areas like making scenery on land picturesque. Later on, many techniques and systems were developed and these are widely used today to give or improve the look of a garden.
The setting up of a garden to make it beautiful and vibrant is actually easy, however, it is another matter to maintain its pristine look over the years that the process becomes another matter. Since most of the plants would rely on receiving water regularly, the supply of water is one of the most important factors. Different water irrigation systems are available to help maintain your garden, and some are quite economical and some would need lots of water in usage.
Garden irrigation has three common methods.
Rainwater irrigation system is the first type of irrigation system that we can briefly discuss. Considered as best for plants, rainwater irrigation system does not have the toxins and chemicals that are used to treat and purify water by local water supply authority. It is also said that plants would grow bigger and healthier with the use of rainwater.
Another type of irrigation system is the drip irrigation, and this runs continuously thus would need power. This system, although it can provide plants with targeted and specialized water, is expensive to maintain because of the cost of electricity used by its pumps. However, if you have a solar powered irrigation system and you use the drip irrigation system, you can reduce your cost and still get the benefits of this type of irrigation system.
The next kind of irrigation system is the sprinkler type which has the same application as that of a rainfall. With a system of pipes connected to spray heads, water would fall to a determined distance and falls on the land like droplets similar to rain.
Based on factors like water availability, local regulations, budget and your personal preferences, you can choose your type of irrigation system.
